Shadow Shot Sunday...At Buffalo Wallow

Buffalo Wallow Creek

Where the Buffalo Wallow?
Nope, it gets the name from the nearest town...Buffalo Gap, Texas!
Which is twelve miles South of Abilene, Texas.
A great little Fishin' Hole surrounded by Buffalo Grass, Cattails and Oak Trees!

Terrific shadow shots for the day! And I did think the area looked familiar! I had a number of relatives that lived in Abilene and I spent a lot of time there when I was growing up. I was born in Dallas and raised in a small town in west Texas. Have lived in the northwest for a lot of years, but still visit Texas as my oldest son lives in Dallas and works at the University of North Texas! Wow! more than you ever wanted to know!! Hope you have a terrific weekend!

Love the tangle of wild grasses and the touch of yellow flower in the second photo! And the variety of shadowy reflections are fascinating! A beautiful place to see!

Don't you just love cat tails?? Can you believe I actually planted some on the edge of the lake. Somehow they migrated about 25 feet from where I planted them. This year I think I have 10 cat tails. Just enough for a Thanksgiving arrangement. Now tell me what kind of fish are in that pond? Great shots Sue!

love the mud hole (fishing hole - catfish?)
Abileen - red dust and oil wells.
loved your head vases - made my one little head look pretty sad. need to find her a mate.... guess that is the thought that makes collections.
